Educated at Rugby School and Durham University, Alexander
was called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 1995.
Before University, Alexander spent his Gap Year working
as a Solicitors Clerk and prior to Bar School, he spent
a year working for the Guardian Newspaper educational supplement.
Alexander is a founder member of Kent Chambers.
Alexander’s practice is broadly based in all areas
of common law.
In Family matters Alexander acts for both Applicants and
Respondents with a particular emphasis on children’s
welfare.
In criminal matters he is briefed by Defence solicitors
and the CPS. He specialises in driving offences, domestic
assaults and dishonesty cases. He is also undertakes work
for the DWP, Customs and Excise and the Health and Safety
Executive.
In Civil matters Alexander acts for both Claimants and Respondents,
especially in the areas of Personal Injury, Contract Law
and Commercial litigation.
Other areas of practice relate to Prison Disciplinary Hearings,
Planning and Construction.
In 2004 Alexander spent a year in the West Indies at New
Street Chambers in Trinidad. He assisted a former colleague
from Bar School set up a new Barrister’s Chambers,
with particular emphasis on the conversion of Attorneys
to Barristers-at-law. The commercially based Chambers specialised
in Contract, Shipping Law and Industrial Disputes.
Alexander has been a Pupil Master since 2002. He is a member
of the Kent Bar Mess, the Criminal Bar Association, the
Family Law Bar Association and the European Bar.
